About Jacqui

Jacqueline Detwiler-George is the former articles editor at Popular Mechanics and former host of The Most Useful Podcast Ever. Before that, she was a senior editor at Hemispheres, the in-flight magazine for United Airlines. For stories, she has embedded with high school students in Indianapolis, skydived with a member of the Red Bull Air Force, inspected the only plane designed to transport Ebola patients, dived with giant clams in Palau, and travelled the U.S. searching for the cure for cancer. Most recently, she trailed the Baltimore Police Department's Crime Scene Investigation team for a book for Simon & Schuster's Masters at Work series.

Jacqui’s writing has been included in Best American Science and Nature Writing, and won both Hearst’s Feature of the Year and a Folio Award. Her editing at Popular Mechanics has been nominated for awards from the American Society of Magazine Editors. She has done corporate work for Makara Digital, Norwegian Cruise Lines, the tourism board of Japan, and Volkswagen.
